Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai (2012)
MOVIE SUMMARY:
In the 17th century, masterless and poverty-stricken samurai Hanshiro requests to commit hara-kiri (ritual suicide involving self-inflicted disembowelment) in the courtyard of feudal lord Kageyu's estate. Wanting to dismiss Hanshiro's wish, Kageyu recounts the tragic story of a young ronin named Motome who years earlier made a similar plea. However, Kageyu is unaware that a deep bond exists between Hanshiro and Motome. In another angle bwe can say, An tale of revenge, honor and disgrace, centering on a poverty-stricken samurai who discovers the fate of his ronin son-in-law, setting in motion a tense showdown of vengeance against the house of a feudal lord.
